Eugene J. Levin is an American filmmaker, producer, and writer dedicated to preserving Jewish history, documenting the Holocaust, and confronting the rise of modern antisemitism through documentary film.

Born in Riga, Latvia, then part of the Soviet Union, Eugene grew up experiencing state-sponsored antisemitism before immigrating to the United States with his family as a political refugee in 1989. Those early experiences shaped his lifelong commitment to preserving historical truth and giving voice to stories that might otherwise be forgotten.

In 2022, Eugene founded Dim Bom Production, inspired by the legacy of his grandfather Mozus, a Holocaust survivor. The company was established with a clear mission: to preserve memory, confront denial, and create films that educate, inspire, and encourage meaningful dialogue.

Eugene's first feature documentary, Baltic Truth, explored the Holocaust in the Baltic States, exposing local collaboration, historical revisionism, and the ongoing struggle to preserve the memory of Latvia's destroyed Jewish communities. Hosted by internationally acclaimed cantor Dudu Fisher, the film received international recognition and is available on Amazon Prime Video.

He is currently directing and producing Ashes of Identity, a documentary examining the October 7, 2023 Hamas massacre, the aftermath of the attacks, and the dramatic resurgence of global antisemitism. Through interviews with survivors, historians, archaeologists, legal scholars, journalists, and hostage families, the film explores a timeless warning captured in Hegel's words:

"What we learn from history is that we do not learn from history."

Beyond filmmaking, Eugene is a published contributor to The Times of Israel and Jewish News Syndicate, where he writes on Holocaust remembrance, Israel, Jewish identity, and contemporary antisemitism.

His work is driven by a simple conviction: that documentary filmmaking is more than storytelling—it is an act of remembrance, education, and moral responsibility. Through every project, Eugene seeks to preserve history, challenge indifference, and ensure that the lessons of the past continue to resonate with future generations.
